"Our so-called leaders are a power-hungry, money-worshipping, willfully blind boys club. They are outrageous and out-of-control.
"None of the music on the album is a deliberate reflection of this sentiment, although on reflection, yes, there was some sort of abstracted sense of pointlessness in some of the songs which I can see was influenced by the political mood of the time.
"The thing is, we want to create the opposite: vibrancy, colour, movement, beauty, subtlety, thoughtfulness, love. We're not an overtly political band and quite happily leave that for people who do it properly, Mr Sterile Assembly for instance. But we don't just take what's dished out either... what we do is like we're going, hey, we can do it our way, and do it well, keep it DIY and be real people and be awake in the world."
